It is important for many veterans to get legal counseling especially if they have served at war. There may be several types of compensation or benefits available to you.

For instance Agent Orange was a chemical used in the Vietnam War that many people were exposed to and is linked to multiple health conditions. If you served in the Vietnam War then you may be entitled to some sort of financial compensation.

Getting Legal Counseling

The best way to get the most out of your benefits is to get legal help. There are legal programs available to you if you meet the criteria. These programs are free and are made to help you get the most from your compensation.

Free of Charge Legal Help

There are certain VA offices that offer free legal help to veterans. This includes lawyers and legal consultations. If you are a veteran and you need legal help, go to your local VA office.

If you use the VA website there is also a list available that shows you what kind of legal help is available in your area. This can help give you an idea of what you need to do. There are legal clinics as well that you can go to for free legal advice.

VA Disability Lawyers

If you are a disabled veteran, then you are going to need a disability lawyer. A disability lawyer is provided by the VA and works in your best interest to get you fair compensation. If you struggle with everyday tasks, and need special medical treatment, then a disability lawyer is your best bet.

Typically you are only charged 5% of the fee of having the lawyer so this is extremely affordable especially for those that are living on a low income budget.

Legal Service Clinics

There are plenty of legal service clinics available for veterans nationwide. If you’re seeking legal help, you can easily check online where a local VA supported Legal Service Clinic is and get the help you need. These clinics are often very affordable so if you are low income this is your best bet.

Low Income Options

All VA legal services are designed for those with low income so you don’t have to stress if you need legal help but don’t have enough in your pocket to back it up. You may be able to get free legal help depending on your situation.

Legal Fees

Typically through the VA, the legal fees are kept at a minimum but on average it will cost you about 5% of the total fee or $100. This will most likely be the only amount of money that you will have to spend on any type of legal fee.
